Uptight: With the unlikely success of my idea for a trombone trio “It’s Not Unusual” again here I’ve gone out on an arranging limb, but I think it works very well and is a real crowd pleaser too. I’m a big fan of Stevie and I just about have all of his recordings with much admiration for his large work of 76 “Songs In The Key Of Life” which I took to every summer party. I also remember as a kid of 5/6 dancing on the beach when “Uptight” came on the radio on holidays in Newquay, it was so infectious beat-wise and tune-wise! To start on the YouTube movie there are odd off-beat pitches these are just the claps that the rest of the band have to do.
