Nostalgia my friends, Christmas old and new, the sound of brass brings warmth, memories, thoughts of friends and loved ones. This is a tune for the inner contemplation, eyes closed, perhaps in church. It is a rich soulful tune which soloists get to enjoy and euphoniums get to duet. It is peaceful and yet at one point shouts joy in Christmas bright! I dedicate this to my first band tutor I worked under in Liverpool as a young man of 14 years old until I was 20. Bob Dean started playing at the Sailors Chapel Band in the the Dingle Liverpool down by the docks, then he joined the famed Cammel Lairds band and then to Fodens and became a brass peripatetic teacher in Liverpool for 40 years.
