Around 1950 Wilfred Heaton composed a suite for recorder and piano for fellow Sheffordian Philip Rodgers. These five lively miniatures were later adapted for brass quintet (Five Bagatelles) and brass band (Five Little Pieces). Paul Hindmarsh has made some slight alterations to the original recorder part, largely matters of range, to make this fascinating collection of Heaton miniatures available to cornet and trumpet players.
