Haydn 104 The London. Haydn not often arr: for BB, but this was the first symphony I played as a young’un (13) in Liverpool School’s Orchestra, and no mean feat as it’s Trumpet in D. I took a real shine to the last moment and still love it today, so down a semitone and off we go, have supplied a picc Bb part as the sop part is a bit lofty, aimed at 1st sec/Championship. First performed in 1795 May 4th at the Kings Theatre and was an immediate success and brought Haydn 4,000 gulden.
